Song Minho was born to a lower middle class family that could never afford to send their kid to a prestigious academy such as Yonsei University. His father is a retired musician that never quite made it to fame as he had always dreamed. It was the reason his family moved from place to place so much when he was young—his dad always figured new opportunities would present themselves in new places but that wasn’t always the case. His mother has always been a stay-at-home mom, finding the calling to always be there for her children as they moved from place to place and encourage them and support them each time they had to readjust. Before going to college, he took some time off while he lived in Japan with his family and had a few different jobs and saved up a lot of money. He made many friends during that time, friends that made him feel like for the first time he had a greater family and network of people he wanted to stay in touch with. Whenever he saves up enough money, he always goes back to visit Japan and his friends there.

Some people might call Minho obsessive, but he much prefers the term dedicated. When something catches his interest, Minho is the sort to give it his all, and as this is usually some sort of subject, it means exhausting all avenues of research until he learns all there is to know about it.

That was exactly the case when it came to Astrophysics — after a trip to the planetarium in middle school and watching a documentary by Neil de Grasse Tyson, he knew he wanted to study more about the the birth, life and death of stars, planets, galaxies, nebulae and other objects in the universe. It was a fascination that followed him through the years and drove him forward. This was how he found himself with the opportunity to go to Yonsei University in the first place—on scholarship. After submitting research papers on astrophysics and failing to meet the perfect criteria of the science department, the third one was accepted and he was accepted into the university. Although he didn't come from a rich family he helped one of the former presidents of Kappa Alpha Order pass his science classes and they became really good friends. That's how he ended up in KAO to begin with.

Mino is not one to give up easily, and is often stubborn to a fault. His perfectionist tendencies do not help this in the slightest. Don't think for a moment that he is a jack of all trades, but a master of none, for he does not settle for mediocrity in his own work.

Other than that point, he is fairly easy going and finds himself distracted by his love of comic books, art and film. While he has amassed a decent of friends over the years, Mino is somewhat particular about the events and hang-outs he goes to. He doesn’t like getting drunk if he can help it, the only exception being when he parties with the BCT guys. For them he’d do anything. They’ve been more of a family to him than his own family. As such, he is very friendly when faced with other people, but he has a reputation for turning down invitations to hang-out, and, eventually, a good amount of his peers stopped extending them. He doesn't mind, usually. He has enough on the go as it is. Still, he'll be the first to offer his assistance to anyone seeking help with their coursework, and rarely does he expect anything in return other than respect for his time.

As the stress in his home life mounts more and more with each passing year, Mino is finally finding himself at a point in life where he wants a change of pace. He's grown tired of working himself to the bone to please his parents when they only ever use his accomplishments to further their own agendas. He isn't yet certain how he plans to accomplish it, but Mino knows that he needs to make the best of his final year at Yonsei. He's ready to step out of his shell and shake things up. Striving to make his parents proud hasn't once in all his years gotten him the attention he desires from them, and so he thinks it's high time to see if disappointing them might.
